Gallery Les filles du Calvaire, Paris .

Gallery Girls Calvary was born from the will of Stéphane Magnan, industrial and "patron" (although it does not avail himself of this term), to build an economic tool to support contemporary art.

The gallery he designed in complicity with Christine Ollier, professional art, is housed since 1996 in a building on two levels, north of the Marais, an area now in the heart of contemporary art. Their activities are concentrated only on a first contract, they chose to open a second gallery in 2001 in Brussels with independent programming in order to build a clientele and allow himself a further extension of their list of artists, as well as to increase their ability to spread internationally. After nine years of operation in Belgium, they recently chose to close this second space, for reasons of human management and in consideration of the limited financial report for the effort.

The programming of the gallery has three major themes: abstract painting from 1980 to today, photography and its development in the years 1980 to 2000 around the issue of the image, and to some extent the installation sculpture and video. From the outset, Stéphane Magnan and Christine Ollier have set goals to match their dreams as a trading plan with the intention French to build a world-class gallery in the medium term, on an intellectual level, seeking to rethink the problems of such a structure in the current context. They have developed actively distributing their artists participating from the outset, many fairs but also by initiating or participating in co-institutional, which translate into an annual average of about thirty exhibitions and outdoor publishing over 80 publications in sixteen years. Similarly, networking is an important strategic and ends promptly at major projects such that Paris / Brooklyn in 2001, institutional and event now since recovered by Cultures France. In the same vein, they develop collaborations with critics and curators, not only for publishing but also inviting them to speak for exhibitions, enriching the artistic reflection of the gallery.

The conference aimed at presenting the specificities of the gallery Les Filles du Calvaire, and to explore the relationship between art dealer and collector, through a discussion of cross-Christine Ollier, artistic director of the gallery Les Filles du Calvaire Charlotte Boudon, gallery director and his three faithful contributors, and Nicolas Libert, friend and collector.
This meeting is organized by Adelaide Laoufi Boucher and Zuzana Pacakova.

Gallery Lucile Corty , Paris

After work experience at PS1 in New York or at the Air de Paris, Lucile Corty opened his own gallery in the Marais in Paris in December 2007. Since its opening, the gallery has quickly attracted the attention of the art world and had the opportunity to participate in international fairs such as FIAC in Paris or in LIST Basel. This young gallery now has a major place in the Parisian art scene.

Its program seeks to represent a selection of French and foreign artists emerging who develop diverse artistic practices, between performance, photography, painting or sculpture. Not favor any medium, Lucile Corty works well to highlight the universe and the singularity of each of its artists are: Roxane Borujerdi, David Ivar Herman Dune aka Yaya, Marlie Mul, Emilie Pitoiset, Aurelian Gate, Thomas Schmidt, Pavel Strand and We Are The Painters. To mark Song gallerist, Lucile Corty will be accompanied by Thomas Schmidt.

Born in 1973, Thomas Schmidt, who now lives in Paris, has spent long periods in California and Russia. Following training at the Arts Decoratifs in Strasbourg, Thomas Schmidt gradually favored the photographic medium. His photographs function as fragments of life, indexical images, generating real-overs and give way to the narrative as subjective universal. He will next May's second solo exhibition in the Gallery Lucile Corty.
^ Meeting organized by Celine Bertin and Mary Gautier.
